Homemade Oreos as Literary Technique

What do you do when you’re bored? Take a walk, watch TV, read? Lucky for me, my daughter bakes.

These are Homemade Oreos. Delicate, crispy cookies stuffed with a fluffy cream filling. At 135 calories apiece, they are to be savored.

Juxtapostion. That’s what makes each part more delicious. Because they’re contrasted against each other. Like a writing technique! Make your writing livelier by using juxtaposition. Arrange opposite characters or ideas side-by-side to further develop the characters or narrative.

For instance, juxtaposing a scene of bedlam and destruction next to a calm and peaceful vision intensifies both scenes and increases the emotional intensity of the story.

Back to the homemade Oreo cookies. They go great with tea.

Who knew exploring literary techniques could be so tasty?
