Miss Spelt is Not Invited to School

spelling at schoolI know the spell check feature is a great help when writing. However, sometimes we pick up a pen to jot down a note, or have children who write by hand. I always have trouble spelling two words correctly: particularly and hugely.

What’s the cure? Practice? Visualization? I don’t know. Do you have any words you consistently spell incorrectly?

Here are a few misspelled words common to children, but worth a look by everyone:

  • cinnamon
  • conscience
  • corduroy
  • environment
  • mosquitoes
  • mother (really?)
  • noticeable
  • nuisance
  • parallel
  • privilege
  • probably
  • receipt
  • rhythm
  • Wednesday
  • writing (haha!)
